Diet and environmental toxins undeniably affect skin. Detoxing improves acne, and strengthens hair and nails, and gives us a natural, healthy glow.

Improve your mental and emotional clarity. When the body’s systems are aligned, a shift also occurs with our mental and emotional states. We can deal with more when we’re clear and grounded. We can make better decisions, analyze accurately, and see things differently.

The body is not invincible though. I consider it only right that we give our bodies some help!

Now remember, detoxing isn’t a “one shot” deal! It’s recommended to do a Super Detox from anywhere between 10-28 days, depending on if you’ve ever detoxed & how much toxins you think you have built up. The way you feel is a good indication!

After the Super Detox, it’s best to continue a gentle daily detox for optimum health.

I AM NOT talking about laxatives or anything of that nature. PLEASE don’t do that!! You just put your body into shock, you need to replace the minerals, vitamins, electrolytes, etc back into your body!!

This first step is the MOST important step!

Step 1: Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate

This may be self-tanning 101, but it bears repeating. I used a body scrub that sloughs off dead skin so you’re working with a smooth surface. The cells on your body regularly shed to reveal new, healthier skin underneath. The cellular turnover process slows as we get older. You can give it a helping hand by reaching for a great body scrub.

A scrub works in a number of ways: As you shower, massage it over your body, the exfoliating granules will help to remove dead skin cells, and the rubbing action itself boosts circulation increasing blood flow to the skin’s surface.

Back to Basics Body Scrub contains Sea Salt, Seaweed Extract, Argon oil and Aloe extract.

If you’re going to shave or wax, give your skin 24 hours to recover before self-tanning!

Step 2: Moisturize

Before you apply self-tanner, use an oil-free moisturizer like Marine Collagen Lotion on your hands, feet, elbows, between your toes and knees. The skin is thicker and slightly drier on these areas & so the tan develops more quickly. Lotion will ensure even coverage, and can be used to blend between your wrist and your palm, for example, and to smooth out any darker patches. If you have grey or blond hair, adding lotion to your hairline will prevent your locks from turning brassy. (being blonde…this comes from experience!)

Step 3: Don’t skimp on product

One of the biggest self-tanning faux pas is not using enough. You want to cover your skin liberally.  It doesn’t have to be even, just make sure it’s covered.  A good rule of thumb is one pump per arm and two pumps per leg, but if you find you’re not fully covered, don’t be afraid to use more. It won’t mean a darker color—just a more even tan.  Apply on dry skin in sections & wash hands after each section. Make sure you blend, Blend, BLEND! Tips to Make Your Hair Grow Really Fast!


Remember that it can’t grow overnight. Want to unleash new strands like a Chia Pet? If your hair is super-healthy and doesn’t have a ton of split ends, on average, hair grows half and inch a month BUT how would you like to grow your hair over an inch in just one week? Find out how you can more than triple your hair growth AND grow brand new hairs here.

Ever since I was a teenager I’ve been some what follically challenged with a very sluggish hair growth cycle & dry, curly hair (in the late 70’s curly hair was an outcast, (Farrah Fawcett flips were in & my hair was definitely out)! This might be caused by a combination of genetics, over-styling and a low iron count, and my hair can go through phases of struggling to grow new hair so it needs a helping hand every now and then.

Over the years I’ve experimented with different things from hair products to natural home remedies, and after a lot of reading and cosmetology school & LOTS of testing I’ve found formulas that really does work. I’m mostly concerned with cultivating new hairs, but it was a very happy surprise to find my hair grew rapidly at the same time. I wanted to share with you what has worked for me in the past & what I am doing now because it may just work for you!

OK, Hair 101 first…hair follows a specific growth cycle with three phases:

Anagen – The growth phase. The longer a hair remains in the Anagen phase the longer it will grow – this depends on genetics but it can last 2 – 6 years.

Catagen – This is a transitional phase that hair goes into once Anagen has ended. The hair follicle will shrink, the papilla detaches and the hair is no longer attached to it’s ‘life supply’ of nutrients. Hair is no longer growing.

Telogen – Also known as the resting phase. The follicle remains dormant and the hair will be anchored in place. Depending on the strength of the follicle, it will eventually soften and the hair will eventually break free and shed.

The phases run simultaneously so some hairs on your head will be in the Anagen phase and others in Telogen.  For each hair strand, the Anagen phase should start again once the Telogen phase is complete, but some people may experience longer Telogen phases meaning hair is shedding but no new hair is growing. This may result in thinning of the hair, so what we want to do is effectively ‘jump-start’ the Anagen phase and encourage the growth phase to begin. The Telogen phase is a natural phase this does not include when our hair is breaking!

There are a few ways we can help our bodies to do this, which I will talk about later in the post.

1. Biotin

Biotin, also known as Vitamin H, forms a part of the B-complex group of vitamins that help turn food into fuel for energy. It also assists in the metabolism of fats, carbs and amino acids which are the building blocks of protein. Protein-rich foods are excellent for maintaining good hair, but to really help your hair grow quicker and stronger you’ll need to facilitate the building blocks – Biotin.  Biotin is important for our skin, hair & nails.

The daily requirement is 30 micrograms but you can consume more for a real Biotin boost. Take it in a supplement, commonly found in health stores or you can eat foods that are naturally high in Biotin (I choose the latter as the food will have other body boosting benefits, too) These include:

  • Almonds, peanuts, pecans and walnuts
  • Eggs – the yolk has one of the highest concentrations of Biotin
  • Milk and cheese
  • Pork and cooked liver
  • Salmon and sardines
  • Avocado and cauliflower

2. The “Inversion Method”

This here will change your haircare regime. Beauty bloggers and YouTube vloggers across the world have been raving about it for months, and it really can work. I’ve NOT tried the Inversion Method because I have a spinal cord injury in my neck & it is not recommended if you have low or high blood pressure, a detached retina, an ear infection, a spinal injury, heart problems, a hernia, or are pregnant. The inversion position itself could exacerbate your condition or cause further injury…Now it might not work for everyone, but it’s definitely worth a try.

Just make sure you measure your hair before and after for conclusive results, and look for new hairs around your hairline – they may be slightly static and will stand on end. You can find out more about this method here. The Inversion Method claims to grow up to an inch of hair in seven days. The theory behind it is that being inverted, along with a scalp massage, is supposed to increase circulation to the scalp and allow more blood flow to your hair follicles allowing hair growth to increase.

FYI…If you’re using heat tools every day whether that be hot irons or the hair-dryer, try to cut down on using them while you are doing the Inversion Method. Heat can weaken your hair so even just alternating or going an extra day without heat can dramatically improve the condition of your hair.

3. Cold water

Hot water strips the hair of moisture and weakens hair strands making it more perceptible to breakage. Make sure you’re washing your hair with luke warm water and definitely not hot or scorching. I live in Florida, so our cold water is actually warm so I rinse my hair out in cold water & “wash” it in luke warm water.

You want to open pores to clean your scalp which luke warm water will do, then close the cuticles which will help reduce hair loss and frizz. So ensure you finish washing your hair with a blast of cold water.

By closing your pores they are far less vulnerable than open pores so by washing your hair in cold water you’ll help protect your scalp from dirt, grease and oil. If pores are sealed then your hair is more likely to be stronger and shed less. This one step can make a huge difference.

4. Scissors….

Although getting regular trims to snip splits won’t make your hair actually grow faster, it will keep tips looking healthy and prevent splits from working their way up strands, requiring you to chop hair off more often. If you wait so long that splits are causing your hair to break off high up on the strand, your hair will actually be shorter than if you get consistent trims.  Ask your stylist to take around just an eighth of an inch off every 10 to 12 weeks to prevent extreme split ends before they start. You don’t have to chop off 3″ like I did!

While you are on your hair mission, try to avoid tying your hair very tightly. You don’t want to cause any unnecessary pulling which can results in breakage, splits and snags.  So when you do trim your hair or cut it, get a style where you can keep it loose & not tied up all the time.

5. Use conditioner every time you shampoo

If your hair is wet, that means you have to condition it, period!  Over time, from coloring and heat styling, strands start to get thinner at the bottom, conditioner helps replace the lipids and proteins inside the hair shaft, as well as seal the cuticle to help prevent more damage from happening so that you can get your hair to grow longer and look healthier!

If you MUST use shampoo, the type of shampoo you use make a HUGE difference! Stay away from Sulfate! Use Sulfate-Free or Soy Isoflavones based.

6. Coconut Oil

If your using the Inversion Method, I highly recommend Coconut Oil! If you don’t already own a tub of Coconut Oil  make sure you visit your health food store or online retailer. A tub will last you a good few months and it’s packed with vitamins and fatty acids to help nourish your hair. This is also incredible for your skin, I use can use it as a scrub, I add sugar to a couple of scoops of coconut oil and make a scrub, I use it in the shower, rinse off & Voila soft smooth skin this is also GREAT before you shave…BE CAREFUL you don’t slip!!

Comprised mainly of smaller medium-chain fatty acids, the oil is also able to penetrate more deeply and faster than most other conditioners, and because it’s 100% natural you can use it as much as you like without any damage.

There are numerous benefit of using Coconut Oil on your hair, these include:

  • Stimulates hair growth by penetrating deep into the follicles
  • Provides amazing moisturisation for dry hair
  • Adds shine to hair
  • Reduces protein loss in your hair – the only oil to do this
  • Contains anti-bacterial properties to soothe an ichy or flakey scalp

Use Coconut Oil while doing the Inversion Method or as a once a week overnight treatment.

7. Don’t shampoo every time you shower

It’s shocking to me how many women skip conditioner when showering, but shampoo EVERY day, which is the worst thing you can do for your hair — especially when you’re trying to grow it long —shampoo should be skipping as much as possible.

Here’s why: The purpose of shampoo is to wash away dirt and product buildup, but it can also take essential natural oils that keep strands soft and healthy along with it. When you really do need shampoo, be gentler on your hair by only lathering up at your scalp and then simply letting the suds slide down strands, hitting the rest of the hair as the water rinses it away. no need to scrub your hair like a lunatic, wet hair breaks easily!

8. Hair-boosting supplements

 Your body requires many vital nutrients to create new hair, from ample protein to a slew of essential minerals. So take a look at your diet — because while eating a balanced diet helps, you may not be getting the proper amount of all the hair-building nutrients needed to create healthy hair that can grow super-long and withstand damage. I take a hair-boosting supplement every day and tell my clients to do so as well — especially if they want to grow their hair and make it healthier as soon as it comes out of the follicle!

So, about 3 months ago my hair was so damaged, split, thinned & just plain crappy, I decided to cut over 3″ off trying to save what was left of my disaster! I really didn’t think there was any help to fix my hair, I even came VERY, VERY close to shaving it off. No joke! I thought I needed to start over from scratch.

Thankfully I did not do that! Instead I decided to take my “Mermaid Challenge” …in 30 days not only has my hair gotten healthier, less split ends, but….it grew almost 3″!! Yes 3″…it started out just above my bra strap after I chopped the 3″ & today it is now way past that! My hair is not breaking at all, I no longer can make a wig out of the hair in my hand when I wash my hair & it’s thicker!

What’s the Perfect Skin Care Routine?


Step 1: Know What Your Skin Type Is

Want great-looking skin? Start by knowing your skin type. Then you’ll know the BEST way to take care of it.

FYI Never use products that contain alcohol on your skin! It’s too damaging & drying… Especially on Oily or Acne Prone skin! When you have Oily or Acne prone skin, your sebaceous glands are what produces sebum which is the nature oils in our skin. When you have Oily or Acne prone skin those glands are working overtime! So what happens when you dry out your skin?  Those glands sense your skin is dry & then they…Produce MORE oil! Now you have dry skin with overactive oil glands!  This is what causes those wonderful pimples or cysts under your skin. You know the ones that hurt so much & hang out for about 2 months!

  • Normal skin is balanced, clear, and not sensitive.
  • Oily/Acne Prone skin is shiny, greasy, and may have big pores.
  • Combination skin is dry in some spots (cheeks) and oily in others (forehead, nose, and chin).
  • Sensitive skin may sting, burn, or itch after you use some makeup or other products.
  • Dry skin is flaky, scaly, or rough.
  • Mature skin can start as young as 30! Crow’s feet, laugh lines & wrinkles around your lips & forehead. If you are a Sun Goddess like me, then you need this type of treatment for sun damaged skin.  Sun spots, dry surface skin (might be oily but on the surface is dry or peeling) & loss of elasticity fall into this category.

Step 2: Cleanser

Please, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT ever use soap on your face! The skin on your face, especially around your eyes is very delicate. The PH in soap is not balanced for the skin on your face. Period!

So what cleanser should you use? Well it’s based on your skin type. I recommend a blend of antibacterial and cleansing ingredients including Sodium cocoyl isethionate to help gently cleanse your skin by removing hidden dirt and unclogging pores.

Normal skin to Combination skin can use the same type of cleanser, you can use a lotion or foaming .

Oily or Acne Prone skin can use the same cleansers, use an oil free cleanser.  The PH balance is different for these skin types.

Dry & Mature skin can use the same cleanser it helps to use products with NaPCA & Hyluronic Acid to help your skin GENTLY exfoliate.

Sensitive skin needs to be more careful.  This really depends on what your allergies are for.  Don’t be surprised if you find yourself allergic to an “Hypoallergenic” type product.  This just means it was tested for “common” allergies, but no one knows what those allergies are. This label pisses me off, it’s SO misleading! Unfortunately, this one is trial & error for you.

Step 3: Toner/Re-balance

I have been using toner since I started wearing make up & taking care of my skin. Today we have such amazing products & science has come a long way with skin care.  A lot of people don’t understand why toner is necessary.  Well for one, after we cleanse our skin the PH balance is off, a good toner helps balance that out.  It prepares your skin for the next step for maximum absorption …your face cream.  Toner is also used to set your make up & rehydrate your skin throughout the day. As for toners, there are many out there & once you know what your skin type is you’ll be able to choose the right one for you. I personally feel all skin types can use the same toner. I have been a cosmetologist for over 30 yrs, I specialized in skin & custom make up, so I am VERY familiar with what works & what is bull. Personally I use a food tonic for my toner!

Step 4: Treat

Depending on your skin & what needs to be treated, this is the time you put those special treatments to work.  I use serums under my moisturizer.

Step 5: Moisturize

You may think you’re too young to need moisturizer — or your skin is too oily — but all skin needs moisture. Moisturizers help keep your skin from drying out. Use it every day, no matter what skin type you have. Apply it while your skin is still damp from washing or toning to help seal in moisture. If you have acne or your skin is oily, find a moisturizer that is lightweight and oil-free, so it doesn’t block your pores.

As for the Mature/Dry skin friends, well I use products with Collagen, NaPCA, Hyluronic  & Vitamin C & I have seen a tremendous difference in my skin!

Now this might be the time I say to use sunscreen.  But I don’t believe in putting sunscreen on your face before your makeup. Most makeup, especially mineral makeup has sunscreen in it! You don’t need to clog your pores with a sunscreen if you’re wearing makeup. Now if your face is bare…YES put it on!

Once per week I totally recommend doing a mask.  This help remove impurities from the week, helps balance out your skin & helps exfoliate (depending on what mask you use).

What’s Your Passion? Ask Yourself This!


I hear it all the time, people try to find their passion but usually come up short! For many, many years I have researched this very subject in search for my own passion. Every book, every course, everything I tried, I JUST didn’t know what it was.  So I figured that I didn’t have one! Same questions…What can you do to help people? What are your hobbies?  What are your skills? WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO?? Well up until I found my company, I really had no idea!

Then one day I had, I guess an epiphany.  I stopped looking at those famous questions & started looking at the Universe’s signs it was sending me!  This is so true & I will try my best to describe it.  To be honest it’s a feeling, very simple…it either makes you feel good that feeling or bad.  You know what your choice would be, right?

I know you guys have no idea what my background or past is, but let me tell you, the past 4 years I went through hell & back….Let’s just leave it at that for now.  After I let go of the panic of “What am I suppose to do? What is MY passion?” Signs were everywhere!

As you may know, I’ve been in Direct Sales on & off since I’m 17, I’m now 48, so it’s been a few years!  I’ve ALWAYS wanted to be on top in whatever company I was with but never achieved it.  I have a marketing background so I didn’t understand what I was doing wrong & I couldn’t find the people that were on top in those companies to copy off of.

Now back to my search, how did I get to this point, well I didn’t even think of it, it just came to me.  I know that I like to write, I have skills in marketing, fund raising & yep I like to talk to people, so networking was a natural too.  So I really thought about the infamous question…WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO? OK, REALLY what is it…for me it was simple! I like to help people!  30 years it took me to realize this! Go figure…OK now that you know what you really like to do (don’t think of the how you’ll do it!) just follow your gut.

So now I know I like to help people, great now what? OK what is it that I like helping people with? Well I know my “HELL” would play a HUGE part in this decision because EVERYTHING happens for a reason, a purpose…..OMG was MY hell MY purpose??  I know from all that happened I can relate to so many different people & my background is so diverse I can fit in with almost anyone!  OK, now we’re getting somewhere…I like to teach, I could relate to many people, I have a background in direct sales & marketing….OMG I need to go BACK into direct sales..BUT which one?? My mission began, by this time I KNEW I wanted to be right under the TOP person, I wanted a ground floor opportunity, because that’s where you succeed the best & I needed products not only that I loved but had to be natural & affordable!  Too much to ask? Maybe….I made a list of EVERY direct sales company in the US, had my requirement list & then started crossing off every direct sales company that didn’t fit MY criteria.  End of story! I ended up with my company.  At this point now I was excited & said “OK Universe…is this the one?”  Would you believe the tiniest signs started surfacing!  This might sound silly but this is EXACTLY what happened!

Now I am born in April & my birthstone is a diamond….well in my company your status is…Diamond, 1 Carat, 2 Carat all the way to 5 Carat!  Sign #1.

Now when I was younger, my aunt who lived in France at the time, every time she came to visit she would teach my younger sister & I how to take care of our skin &  why she KNEW French skincare was the best hands down.  My aunt’s French skincare was royal blue with silver writing…I’ll never forget that.  Well my company has royal blue with silver writing & it’s manufactured in France!  Sign # 2.  Coincidence?  No Way!  I don’t believe in coincidences only purpose & reasons!

Now to find the top person in the company….well I found her.  I called her & we clicked. Something about the whole situation just fell into place.  For the FIRST time I aligned my past, my skills, my purpose & OMG MY PASSION!!  This is the most amazing feeling you’ll EVER get!

Now I want you to understand something, by NO means do you need the background I have to succeed in direct sales…HONESTLY you just need an awesome team & a great leader, have a passion for the products & what the company stands for!  This is 100% true!

So how my passion falls into place with direct sales….I LOVE helping people so I can help them with weight loss, body toning, great skin or feeling good about the way they look with makeup.  They want to find their passion?  Well I help them with that too…I help people achieve their goals & dreams.  I like to write…well here I am writing!  I like to network…social media & local business groups.

You see in the end that simple question brought me to this moment.  Writing to you telling you how I did it & who knows maybe even help you find your passion too!

Today my team is a 5 carat, I have an incredible team of inspiring, empowering supportive women & men that make me confirm I really did find my passion!

Once you live your passion you really have NO choice but to SUCCEED!  This is so true!

Get Bikini Ready in 7 Days

It may seem counter-intuitive, but the best trick to beating bloat is to drink more water. If you’re drinking water, you’re flushing out everything and keeping all systems going. Try sipping a tall glass water of every time you feel hungry.

Weight-Loss Tip 2: Skip soda.

Another way to get a flatter stomach, avoid soda. Soft drinks, even diet ones, contain sodium, which is a big contributor to bloat & there is so much sugar in soda, especially diet!!…DON’T BE DECEIVED!  Instead of reaching for a diet cola, opt for unsweetened iced tea or coffee.

Weight-Loss Tip: Try a one-day cleanse.

Cleanses aren’t the key to permanent weight loss, but stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyoncé swear by juice cleanses and fasts to slim down and reset their bodies. For a version you can stick to, eat only raw fruits and vegetables for a day. You’ll feel fuller than if you just drink juice, but you’ll easily be able to keep your daily calorie budget in check.

Weight-Loss Tip: Find fuel-up foods.

Hitting the gym? Keep your energy up by picking foods that’ll help you burn more calories during your workout and throughout the day. Go for good carbohydrates, like whole grains, and lots of fruits and vegetables. It’s time-released fuel for the day. Translation: You won’t be reaching for unhealthy snacks to keep you going.

Weight-Loss Tip: Focus on cardio.

Since you’re short on time, swap out spot-toning like sit-ups—they won’t give you the fast results you’re after.  You’ve got to burn fat before you build muscle, try cardio to lean the body down. To really shed pounds, pick a high-intensity interval training workout (like CrossFit and Insanity), which amp up fat burning in short-but-superhard sessions.

Weight-Loss Tip: Cut refined carbs.

Rid your diet of bad carbs (a.k.a. white flour and sugar), which reduce your energy and can make you want to skip that last-minute workout. Foods affect your energy level. Refined carbs, white flour, snack foods—these tend to elevate your blood sugar and then you crash, these are energy-busting foods. Remember, No energy equals craving more food!

One Highlighter….10 Uses!

Using them properly, they have the ability to deliver the kind of radiant skin we usually only see on celebs—but one false move and you’re all stripes and opalescent splotches. Today we released our newest product, our H’Eye Light, this impressive packaging consists of the H’Eye light cream (comes in pink or white) with a brush on the top part, which allows for laser-like application. Here are 10 uses for this incredible new product!

1.Perk up those eyes

With your index finger, carefully pull down your lower lid to expose your inner rim. Then gently go over your waterline with the brush, taking special care not to poke yourself!

2. Instant cheekbones without implants

Contour with this technique: Starting near the inner corner of your eye, draw with the brush downward at a slight angle until you’re in line with the center of your nose. Then, trace upwards towards outer corner of your eye. The result should look like a large check mark. Finally, blend, blend, blend.

3. Stick your shadow

Eye shadow has a tendency to slip-side right off after a couple of hours. To solve this perennial problem, dab highlighter onto lids first. The formula color-corrects like a concealer and provides a smooth surface for both shadow and liner to grasp onto.

4. Dismiss dark circles

To lighten up, gently apply in a triangle shape under your eyes and diffuse with your ring finger.

5. Get the glow

Apply highlighter all over to your face using long, outward strokes. Layer on your usual foundation with a brush, blending the two products together. Watch skin take on a lovely glow.

6. Brighten up your face

Glide the pencil above your brows in a large, upside-down U-shape. Blend with your ring finger or a small, densely bristled brush.

7. Accentuate those arches

To highlight the natural shape of brows and give them a lift, apply along the brow bone and blend.

8. Look alive

To erase the effects of late nights and little sleep, trace along the inner corners of your eyes. The light-reflecting particles work like eight cups of coffee (minus the jitters).

9. Slim your nose

Swipe the highlighter down the bridge of your nose and pat into skin to bring all the attention to the middle of your face.

10. Get Angelina Jolie’s lips

OK, not quite. But fuller-looking lips are within your grasp: Dab the highlighter just above your cupid’s bow.
